The sound of silence

When the only sound you can hear is the ticking of the wall clock in your room. The silence is so deep that you begin to concentrate on that sound to convince yourself that you are not hearing imaginary sounds. You lean back on your chair. and the creaking sound of chair breaks the silence and for a moment you feel safe that you are the cause of that sound. But that moment passes soon, as do all moments. And you find yourself looking for the source of sound in your mind's eyes and the only possible source that you find is the same wall clock. You can't even see it, it's there somewhere, on on of the many walls of this complex shaped room. You decide to ignore that sound, and that is when you realise that there is another sound, that of your wrist watch, which seems to have conspired with its elder cousin hanging on the wall to make you realise that you are so lonely. So alone. The couple of tick-tocks makes you feel the void, the null life, the absence of presence. And a few minutes later, you forget even your own presence, losing yourself in the continuously increasing loneliness. You imagine what would happen if the same happens to you for light, as is happening to you with sound. Is that what death looks like? Or would death also need your emotions to play a similar trick with you that sound has just played. The sound of silence leads you inevitably to the sound of death.
