This cute little guy here is the new born baby of a friend's friend. This pic was taken moments after his birth. I saw this pic today morning and it made me wonder. A new creation of humanity joins this world. A new human being, full of wonder and amazement in the eyes, a brain full of curiosity and equipped with the ability to imagine new things, to question the unexplained, to strive to find the answers to those questions, and to give existence to new creations that arise out of our imagination. In its every waking moment, in each minutest snapshot of time, this new born human has the power to choose to indulge its capacities and faculties in wondering, imagining, creating, being curious. The even more beautiful thing, one that is often forgotten amidst the chaos of the mundane, is that this is true not only for this new born. This happens to be true for each and every one of us, every single day. If only we can stop for a moment and think about it: This is an absolute miracle that we exist with all these capacities that we have; it’s absolutely wonderful that we reside on a rock that is floating every day in the vast expanses of the entirety, and that we don’t have to worry about bringing the sun to light our planet up. And so many other such things. Yet we sometimes continue living without realizing the brilliance of the nature of our existence. We can choose to be like that new born every single day in the sense of having that wonder, and that curiosity about everything. Remember the questioning nature of your childhood? I guess we never really found answers to all those curious questions. We merely stopped seeking because we got used to not having the answers. And then gradually, we stopped asking. We began to think that it’s alright to continue without the answers. Instead, why should we not continue to strive to find those answers? May be this would require an overhaul of the society in what qualities in a human being it has come to value. The realization that this can and should be done is at least the first step. If nothing else, even once a day, if we can go back to re-realizing the wondrous presence of everything around us, I feel that would leave us as better human beings in some way, at least in our own eyes.
